confluence

confluence

This is a repeat shot of the confluence of the east and west branches of the Saranac River, only the west branch is now frozen. The east branch has pushed small (by our standards) chunks of ice up against the edge of the other branch and continues to flow. Some parts--the shallow parts--of the river are frozen over and there are channels flowing in other parts.
